Motormind is a Bangalore based industrial design studio and prototyping company established in 2008 by Entrepreneur Engineer Designer Mr. Shahid Haq, an alumni of Coventry University industrial design, who started off by experimenting with Manufacturing techniques, composites and metal working methods. He also serves as the Joint Managing Director of Empire Group of Hotels in Bangalore. Since its inception Motormind specializes in manufacturing of automotive styling kits for all category of production cars in the Indian market.

Now we are focusing in building working prototypes and low volume production sports cars.
Motormind Automotive Designs releases the wind in the hair thrill of motoring with Hyperion 1 Concept: a culmination of 3 years of research and development.As a brand, Motormind is exploring a new segment of track focused open wheel cars. Hyperion 1 concept is also an opportunity to showcase design conception and working prototype building skills for the industry.
Exterior Design
The design brief was to have an open wheeled car with F1 styling influence. To make the experience visceral and engaging: rear wheel drive, rear engine layout was chosen. Front of the car is inspired from Formula 1 Car; the split feature in the front makes the car look lighter visually. The side intakes add visual dynamism to the cockpit.
The tapering tail holds the aero style spoilers; rear panels along with cooling ducts complement the rear diffuser for a track racer feel. The structural panels are built entirely of composites to keep weight low as possible; Led lighting is used entirely which allowed us to explore a new aesthetics in illumination. The car offers a perfect balance between road and track car without compromising on creature comforts or the thrill of open top motoring.
Interior Design
Interior features a driver centric carbon fiber central console intersecting a wraparound dashboard. All buttons are centrally placed and offer a tactile experience. Premium leather seats with twin needle stitching offer optimum lateral support and body hugging feel. We are showcasing our 3 D printing capabilities with full 3D printed steering wheel from CAD data.
Ambient lighting adds a sporty character not usually found in the segment. Fully hand crafted gauges add a new dimension in man machine interface. Both driver seats and steering column are fully adjustable for different driving positions. Electronic linear actuated vertical lifting doors and engine bay lid provide ease of access with added visual drama.
Development involved several iterations before arriving at the right emotion and feel. Several proportions and graphics were experimented with, before detailing in the design to provide optimum visual performance with track car aggression. For precision engineering, CNC milling process has been adopted. At the moment the concept is being evaluated for production; and the team is exploring all angles to make this a reality. Our ambition is to cater products and services to niche segments previously addressed by international players.
